Microblading - Destiny Med Spa

Microblading

Microblading is a semi permanent cosmetic procedure that uses a manual hand tool designed to create fine, hair-like strokes for a natural appearance. Microblading is ideal for filling in sparse areas of the eyebrow, defining and enhancing brow shape.

Microblading vs. Permanent Makeup

Permanent makeup artists use a machine that implants ink into the bottom layer of the dermis. This does not allow the artist to have full control, resulting in harsh blocks of color. When the ink eventually fades, a blue or red hue is left. Microblading uses a manual hand tool with many microneedles and pigment on the end, creating small cuts in the skin collecting the pigment. The microneedles penetrate the upper level of the dermis, making this a semi permanent procedure. The pigment is designed to break down in the dermis over time and will fade naturally.

YOUR CONSULTATION

If you still have questions and would like to come in for a consultation, you are more than welcome to do so! We will go over any questions or concerns, walk you through the process, and discuss what to expect during your healing process.

REQUIREMENTS BEFORE MICROBLADING

Microblading is not recommended for clients that are pregnant or nursing, under 18, undergoing chemo, prone to keloid scarring, have used Accutane within the past year, are epileptic, or HIV/Hepatitis positive.

Clients should prepare for microblading by-

  • Avoiding Botox for three weeks prior
  • No chemical peels 60 days prior.
  • No retinol or anti-aging creams 2 weeks prior.
  • Do not consume alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours prior.
  • Do not take any ibuprofen, aspirin, or medications that thin the blood

REQUIREMENTS AFTER MICROBLADING

  • Do not touch eyebrows after procedure for 24 hours.
  • After 24 hours, begin to wash brows once a day with baby soap, following the direction of your hair growth- Do not scrub.
  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare serum once a day
  • Do not sweat for 5 days
  • Absolutely no sun exposure for 4 weeks after procedure
  • Do not let direct shower stream hit eyebrows for 2 weeks.
  • Do not pick at any peeling or flaking skin

It is very important to trust the healing process. Your skin will go through many different stages in the 4 weeks you are healing. The first day you will absolutely love how they look. Days 2-5 they are 30-40% darker and thicker. The following days you will experience dry, itchy skin that you should advise from scratching. You might experience some slight scabbing or flakiness. Some strokes will disappear, and a shiny layer of skin will be left with lighter strokes, then reappear in the following weeks. Be patient, trust the process, and let your microbladed brows heal. After 4-6 weeks we will schedule your complimentary touch up and your brows will be perfect.
